We haven't found another Lilac Wine in
the US, but there could be one out there.
This all
started with some old-timers talking to us about making Lilac Wine many years
ago with the lilac blossoms in the spring. We decided to give it a try. Boy,
are we glad we did! What a very fun wine we have created. A semi-sweet blush
wine with a vegetal character that is so very unique. This will be the holiday
conversational piece across the US this holiday season. Enjoy chilled with
friends either as a warm-up or with fruits or cheese and crackers. We enjoyed
several bottles with a group. The majority of them came to the same conclusion:
The taste brings you the smell of lilacs. It was phenomenal the way some described
it. This has been an instant hit for our winery. Watch for it to go into full
production in 2009.
